Alena and Robert are a couple from Slovakia. At the end of June they got married in Iceland, one of their favourite countries to visit. They wanted their wedding photos taken in Icelandic nature, and that’s where I came in.
They contacted me a few months earlier, saying they wanted wedding photos at three choice places on the southern coast of Iceland. I suggested one more, and then we decided on a date for the shoot.
On the morning July 2, I picked them up in downtown Reykjavik and we headed off. My wife came along as an assistant, and was sort of my remote control at places like Skógafoss waterfall, where she was able to tell them where to be and what to do, while I stood (or crouched) dozens of yards away.
Our stops ended up being far more than we initally planned: Nine instead of four, including Seljalandsfoss, Reynisfjara, Sólheimasandur, Hellisheiði, Dyrhólaey and Skeiðflatarkirkja. We took our time, and eleven hours after we picked the newlyweds up at their guesthouse, we brought them back.
And now for some photos.
